CMCJP Registration Policies

Music Together® registration/refund policies: Prorated refund minus $10 processing fee for returning families (or $15 new-family registration fee for new families) granted for withdrawals BEFORE second class of term only, regardless of attendance. Music Together materials fee ($39, included in tuition) is refundable only if materials are returned to us unopened and undamaged. For later withdrawals due to extreme circumstances or emergency situations, a credit for up to 5 classes can be applied to a future Music Together term. Families may make up 2 classes per term, space permitting (check our website for details).

For Music Together, families may schedule up to 2 makeup classes per term (based upon space availability) using our makeup scheduler. Makeups must be completed within current semester, and cannot be carried over to future semesters. We do not guarantee availability of makeup classes.  

Private lesson withdrawals/refunds:
Prorated refunds are available for withdrawals taking place BEFORE your fourth scheduled lesson (this includes trial lesson, and is regardless of attendance). No refunds will be granted for withdrawals taking place after fourth scheduled lesson, unless/until we are able to fill your lesson slot with another student. $15 new-family registration fee is non-refundable. Failure to attend private lessons without proper withdrawal does not release a student from the responsibility to pay lesson fees. All lesson fees minus original deposit are due on first day of semester unless a credit card payment plan is arranged. Lesson slots cannot be held for registrations without payment.

Private lesson absences/makeups: One student absence per 16-week term will be made up at the end of the semester (we do not offer makeup lessons for summer term). All teacher absences will be made up at the end of the term, or a refund will be issued. Teachers will wait 10 minutes for a student who is late for a lesson. Students are asked to do the same for teachers.

All other group class refund policies: Prorated refunds minus $10 processing fee (or $15 new-family registration fee) available for withdrawals BEFORE second class of the term (regardless of your attendance). If you are paying by check, full tuition minus original deposit is due by first class day. There are no makeups for student absences. One snow day per term will be made up at end of term, or a refund will be granted. All teacher absences will be made up at the end of the term, or a refund will be issued.

Snow Cancellations: In the case of extreme weather conditions, please check in with CMCJP at either 617.524.1784, or on the website at jamaicaplainmusic.com where information will be posted regarding center closures.
One snow day per term will be made up at end of term. Snow cancelations beyond one are not made up or refunded.

Memberships are non-refundable, except in cases of cancellation by CMCJP of a class purchased along with a membership. We recommend purchasing your membership along with your first class registration, to ensure availability of your class choice.
